The Recycling Program and Distribution Center are vital aspects of Yakima Union Gospel Mission's ministries. Started in 1997, our Recycling Program provides work opportunities and helps to raise funds for YUGM ministries - and helps us avoid adding to the growing landfill and depletion of resources.
Volunteers will meet at the pantry on main campus and prep the truck for the pickups by loading empty boxes and bread racks, then riding along with our employee to our food pickup locations. At each location, you will help package food into our boxes by item type (produce, meat, dairy, dry goods, etc.), labeling which store it came from, and loading it into the truck. Then, we will drive back to main campus and unload.

Come join our awesome team of drivers who help us with this important job!
We have a new gate at our south entrance on our main campus! As you pull up to the gate, push the intercom button on the call box to tell a staff member your name. If no one answers, use the Adult Shelter on-call phone number (509-853-4343) posted near the intercom. It will take a moment to verify your volunteer account, and then you will be buzzed in.
Please report to the second warehouse on the left, which is brown and has the large DONATIONS sign on the front. Thank you!
