Duties will include the following:
- Oral Cancer Screenings
- Conduct oral and systemic health screenings
- Take and record blood pressure and vital signs
- Perform adult prophy
- Take x-rays with digital radiography (PANO, PAs, BWX, VBW, FMX)
- Take intra-oral and extra-oral photographs
- Perform periodontal therapies
- Administer local anesthesia
- Give fluoride treatments
- Apply SDF treatments
- Periocharting
- Complete restorations in collaboration with DDS to include: placing a matrix and wedge for a direct restorative material after the dentist has prepared the cavity, place retraction cord when needed, apply cavity liners and bases, perform acid etch and apply bonding agents, adjust restoration as needed, and polish of restoration
- Provide patient education in proper oral hygiene procedures
- Explain preoperative and postoperative instructions for restorations, periodontal therapies, fluoride, etc.
- Tear down, disinfection, and set up of operatories
- Perform proper sterilization techniques for instrumentation
- Remove excess cement, when requested, after the dentist has placed a permanent or temporary crown, bridge, or other fixed restoration
- Place a temporary filling (such as zinc oxide-eugenol (ZOE)) after diagnosis and examination by the dentist
- Removal of sutures when requested by DDS
- Additional procedures as delegated by DDS
Proper documentation of current Washington State RDH licensure and BLS/CPR certification is required.
