Who We Are

Our Street Ministry is about meeting folks where they are, geographically as well as in their walk of life. Getting people off of the streets and out of addiction is literally life or death. We cannot afford and expect people to climb their way out by themselves. This is why our Street Ministry exists; to extend help to those who deeply need it, to remind them that they have purpose, that they are seen and deeply loved, and to usher them into services. Whether that is shelter care, Recovery Services or detox.

We serve a God who deeply cares for people and is not okay with them going unseen or falling through the cracks. So, here we are, searching the streets of Yakima, offering help to those in affliction, addiction and oppression, in the name of Jesus!

What We Do

Our goal is to build genuine relationships while offering food, drink, clothing, basic medical supplies and an invitation to come back to the Mission.

If you are interested in becoming a Street Ministry outreach volunteer, email the volunteer team at volunteer@yugm.org or click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page. We look forward to meeting you!
